Synopsis
Mary is a surrogate mother on vacation with Nora and Michael, the couple whose baby she is pregnant with. Upon Mary’s arrival, this much becomes a bit too clear: this isn’t just another Island. Even as Mary enjoys the lavish hospitality that Nora and Michael offer, she gradually starts piecing information together that paints a disquieting picture. At the heart of it lies a mysterious woman addressed never by name but known by all as ‘The Mother’. Thought of as a modern day ‘Saint’ who moved to The Island in the 70s and has since been locally worshipped by all, The Mother is a charismatic figure that both fascinates as well as terrifies Mary. When eventually confronted with a darker truth about The Island, Mary decides to take matters into her own hands and all hell breaks loose.
